A look at London’s Georgian statues of Women and – since we have to be honest, there are very very few of these – also London’s statues of Georgian women. We’ll meet Queen Charlotte (well, probably Queen Charlotte) and Georgian celebrity actress Sarah Siddons, subject of the capital’s first standalone statue of a named non-royal woman. There’ll be a mention of Mary Wollstonecraft and her controversial 21st-century commemoration by Maggi Hambling, and as for the National Gallery…How does its all-female façade statuary connect with one of the most famous episodes in Georgian history?

The talk starts at 6.30pm, doors open from 6.15pm.

Georgian Group members are eligible for a discount on their ticket by entering GGMEMBER at the checkout.
