The Georgian Group Journal is the authoritative journal of record for early modern architecture in Britain between 1660 and 1840 and was first published in 1986. It is cited more often than any other title in Sir Howard Colvin’s classic work of reference A Biographical Dictionary of British Architects 1600-1840 and is essential reading for anyone interested in architecture and related aspects of material culture during this period.
The Georgian Group Journal, published annually, is sent to all members and subscribing libraries. It is currently edited by Professor Frank Salmon of the University of Cambridge. Previous editors have included: Roger White, Giles Worsley, Dana Arnold, Richard Hewlings, and Geoffrey Tyack.

Authors of potential articles are invited to send the Editor, Professor Frank Salmon, a brief initial email outlining their proposed contribution (Journal@georgiangroup.org.uk). Submissions should then be sent by 30 September of the year before publication is due.
An online archive of past articles together with a cumulative index is available via the button below. NB.: at any given time the three most recent volumes will only be available in print form. Please note the titles of all articles published in The Georgian Group Journal are also listed in the RIBA Library catalogue, which hosts the RIBA’s Architectural Periodicals Index.
