For this second visit as part of the VANBRUGH300 celebrations in 2026, we shall visit Seaton Delaval Hall, Northumberland – one of architect Sir John Vanbrugh’s smaller country houses but
home to the larger-than-life Delaval family. The National Trust acquired the property in 2009 and has since made significant repairs to the Hall, which had fallen into disrepair following a serious fire in the 19th century. The tour will be led by the Collections and House Manager.
In the afternoon, we will travel to nearby Newcastle (approx. 25 min drive) for a walking tour of recent casework in the city, led by our Senior Conservation Adviser for the North, Thomas Whitfield.
The event is for Georgian Group members’ only. Please read our terms and conditions before booking. Members who are also members of the National Trust should use the discount code NTMEMBER at the checkout. Please remember to bring your NT card with you on the day.
If tickets have sold out for this event, please email members@georgiangroup.org.uk to be added to the waiting list.
