A Walking Tour with Cheltenham Civic Society

Join Cheltenham Civic Society for a guided walk through the elegant heart of England’s most complete Regency town – a place where Georgian ideals of beauty, proportion and civic pride still shape modern urban life. Led by members of the Society, this walk will explore how the town’s distinctive Georgian character continues to evolve. We’ll visit key sites within the historic core, from grand terraces and leafy squares to more recent developments that test the boundaries between preservation and progress. Along the way, we’ll consider how public spaces are managed, how heritage buildings are being adapted for modern use, and how design decisions today will shape the Cheltenham of tomorrow. This is not a historical tour but an exploration of living heritage – ideal for those interested in how Georgian towns can respond creatively and sensitively to 21st-century challenges.
