WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

Reports to: The General Manager, The Georgian Group

Term: Part-Time, 6-Month Fixed Term Contract (Jan – June 2026)

Salary: £10,000

Vanbrugh300 is a year-long festival in 2026 presented by The Georgian Group and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to celebrate the life and work of the extraordinary architect (and playwright, herald, soldier… ) Sir John Vanbrugh, who died in 1726.

As a paid intern and key member of the festival team, you’ll be working directly with our partners – six of Vanbrugh’s houses including Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard, Project Manager Helen Vigors and a steering group that includes Vanbrugh expert Charles Saumarez Smith.

Purpose of the Role

A six-month paid training opportunity for a motivated individual interested in heritage, digital media, and educational outreach . The intern will support Vanbrugh 300 by helping maintain and develop the website, social media, and digital marketing activities, as well as supporting programmes created for schools and local communities.

Core Responsibilities

Website & Digital Marketing Management:

· Update website content, imagery, and layout as needed.
· Keep the events calendar current and accurate, liaising with partner houses for timely updates.
· Assist with uploading and managing the Schools Programme content online.
· Research and gather information and imagery from partners, ensuring correct usage rights are in place.
· Integrate social media feeds onto the website and monitor engagement.
· Track and analyse website performance via Google Analytics and prepare reports for the team.
· Develop ideas and liaise with Houses on content in line with the marketing strategy, helping to create social media toolkits to assist partners in their digital campaigns.
· Collect, prepare, and resize imagery for use across different social media platforms and press materials.
· Research opportunities for broader media exposure, including potential podcasts, documentaries, and radio features.

Education & Community Programmes:

· Assist the Education & Outreach Consultant in researching local community groups and relevant schools to be part of the programmes.
· With support, assist in writing resource materials for schools and collating imagery.
· Help in planning school and community activities across the six houses.
