Alicia Salter will present the research behind her recent book (the title of this talk) which looks into the eighteenth-century architect Robert Adam’s own affinity with the Balkans and how his ‘rediscovery’ of Diocletian’s palace at Spalatro (now Split) informed his own works upon his eventual return to England. Alicia is an architectural historian who spent her professional life taking clients to the great cities of western Europe.
