(Afternoon only)

Oxford resident and distinguished architectural historian at the University of Oxford, Geoffrey Tyack leads us on a tour of Oxford’s libraries. These are some of the city’s most impressive interiors and are little known to the public. Highlights include a visit to Hawksmoor’s All Souls, a college whose interior is often a mystery even to Oxford alumni. Here we will see the vast Codrington Library, one of the most impressive rooms in Oxford, the astonishingly vigorous hall and the chapel. The spectacular baroque library at Christ Church, architecturally the finest college in Oxford, and the delightfully unexpected library at Lincoln also feature.
