On Valentine’s Day George Saumarez Smith, ‘one of the leading classical architects of his generation’ will talk about the Romantic landscape tradition, new classical buildings and the use of the Orders. George’s work covers new buildings as well as alterations and reparations of historic properties. His drawings have been published and exhibited globally and he lectures and writes across the themes of traditional architecture. In 2006, he won the RIBA Instock Downland Prize and in 2011 he was one of six shortlisted for the Young Architect of the Year Award.
