George IV is one of the most provocative figures of the Georgian age. Known for his extravagant lifestyle and turbulent personal life, he was also a major cultural patron, amassing an unrivalled collection of art and earning himself the title “the first gentleman of Europe”. This exhibition at The Queen’s Gallery will present George IV’s life through the art that enriched his world and brings together Dutch and Flemish masterpieces, magnificent portraits, delicate French porcelain, intricate metalwork and elegant books and drawings to show a different side to this controversial king.

This joint Georgian Group and Young Georgian visit will begin with an hour’s talk from one of the exhibition’s curators in the Gallery’s Redgrave Room, followed by a self-guided tour of the exhibition (entry to the exhibition is included in the event ticket cost). Tickets to this event must be purchased in advance via our website.
