The 18th century was a turning point in the way that theatre was performed and welcomed by both press and audiences. This talk will vividly bring to life the theatre scene in Georgian London and will recount the stories of the larger-than-life actors and theatre managers who lived their lives against the backdrop of the important social, cultural and economic changes of the period.

Norman Poser is an Emeritus Professor at Brooklyn School of Law and former Executive Vice President of the American Stock Exchange. He has previously published a biography of the eighteenth-century jurist Lord Mansfield.

Doors open 6.15pm, talk starts 6.30pm (inc. wine)
